An Avionics team from Marshall Aerospace recently decided to take advantage of their Marshall Employee Volunteering day and used the opportunity to help build an extraordinary future for an assisted living community in Saffron Walden, UK.
Volunteer Uttlesford were delighted to receive an offer of help from the Avionics team and quickly found a suitable task that would make a difference to the local community: supporting an assisted living retirement community, Four Acres, in Saffron Walden. Four Acres has communal outdoor space for its residents to enjoy and socialise - but the eleven benches on site had scarcely been maintained or renovated in the 33 years since they were first installed.
The team set out completely restoring the benches, clearing off years of grime before smartening the look with fresh coats of paint. Fortunately, the weather was also kind - so the team got to enjoy being outdoors on a rare sunny spring day.
Four Acres, Volunteer Uttlesford and the local council have all offered their thanks to the team from Marshall for all their hard work in transforming this tired space into something the residents can enjoy more readily.
