Our purpose

Our purpose

Whether in the UK, North America, Europe or the Middle East, Marshall’s people are defined by their forward-thinking spirit, an inherent instinct to do the right thing, and the desire to successfully solve problems that others walk away from.

This drive to transform helps us deliver for our customers, our communities, our people and our planet.

Customers

We apply the same exacting standards of innovation and quality to everything we do whether the job is keeping aircraft airborne, helping a customer take a product from concept to reality, or manufacturing infrastructure that protects people in critical situations

Building on our hard-earned reputation for engineering excellence, we are proud to work shoulder to shoulder with an incredibly diverse range of customers including armed forces, humanitarian organisations, and the world’s largest aerospace and defence contractors.

From designing Concorde’s iconic nose to kitting out a fleet of explosive ordnance disposal vehicles, we are proud of the part we play in helping our customers succeed - often in the most challenging of circumstances.

Communities

With a footprint across the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East, Marshall has come a very long way since our humble beginnings in 1909.

Wherever we are in the world, we work hard to be a force for good in our local communities, from creating employment and boosting exports to inspiring young people to pursue careers in STEM and aviation, or helping to provide half-way housing for the homeless.

To help our people support and fundraise for the causes they care about, we provide a formal employee volunteering scheme, flexible working patterns, and even grants through our employee-led, company-funded Marshall Community Fund.

People

No matter which part of our business they belong in, Marshall’s people are constantly striving to deliver outstanding results for our customers.

This shared pursuit of excellence by everyone from the newest apprentice to the leadership team gives us with the momentum and courage to adapt and meet the challenges of an ever changing world.

We are enormously proud to have trained over 21,000 apprentices over the course of our history, and we are committed to creating more extraordinary opportunities for young people - building a pipeline of talent for the future.

Planet

Through our Ambition 2030 programme we put sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

We are committed to taking ambitious climate action and building climate resilience, ensuring a healthy environment for our employees and communities, and using and developing sustainable products and services.

In the last few years alone, we have:

  • Launched Titan, a pioneering solar-powered refrigeration system
  • Branched out into all-electric refrigeration products under the FRIGOBLOCK brand
  • Slashed the carbon footprint of our deployable infrastructure operations
  • Incorporated the use of recycled material into our product lines
  • Announced HyFIVE, a ground-breaking consortium developing a hydrogen fuelling system for aviation
  • Received ISO 14001 certification for environmental management across all our core businesses
  • Incorporated solar PV installations, LED lighting, high-efficiency HVAC systems, air source heat pumps, EV chargers and water-saving equipment across new facilities
